For weeks now, I've been getting loads of suspicious calls from various numbers at all hours - mornings, evenings, weekends, you name it. The caller says they're sorting out my Council Tax band and that I’m due a refund. Sometimes they even pretend to be from a bank or HMRC. They ask for my bank info to send the "refund," but with that thick foreign (European) accent, it was pretty hard to catch what they said. I figured out it was a scam when I told them to send any confirmation by post instead.
