Typical scam stuff. Like others have said, they say things like "Hey Mum, feeling terrible, in a really bad spot, blah blah blah, I'll message you later, gonna have a quick nap now, more nonsense, x" - complete rubbish.

Got a dodgy text from +44 7726 382536 saying they've switched to Tesco and that my old number's useless now. The message went something like, “Hey mum, just switched my mobile to Tesco so don't use my old number anymore. Message me on 07895965772 so I can keep your details. x” Definitely felt off and like some sort of scam.

It’s good to report these scams here but even better to let the police know as well. Got a text from someone claiming to be a kid asking for cash - definitely a scammer trying to pull a fast one.

I received a text from 07726 382 536 saying something like, “Hey mum, I’ve switched to Tesco mobile so my old number’s no good anymore. Please drop me a message on 07895965772 so I can update your details x”. When I looked it up, the number that sent the text didn’t show anything suspicious, but the one they asked me to reply to flagged up as a scam. Just thought I’d warn everyone to be careful with messages like this!

Got a text from 07895 965772 and it was just like the ones folks here mentioned - no name or anything, which made me suspicious straight away. Decided to look up the number before replying and turns out it was dodgy. Bit of a no brainer now, I’ve blocked it.

Looks like a scam tryin to steal info. Got a message at 2.15am saying, “Hey mum, switched to Tesco from my old number. Txt me on 07895965772 so I can save ya details x” First off, I ain’t got kids, second, no kid would ping me at that hour! This is just a rubbish way for scammers to check if a number’s legit before bombarding you with scams. Best thing to do? Don’t reply at all, no matter what. Just block, report and bin the message.

I just got a text from +44 7726 382539 with that exact message another user mentioned back on 11 May. It instantly seemed off to me since I’ve no kids at all. Really wouldn’t trust anything from that number!
