With their okay, I signed someone up for a free trial on some hearing aids they’re trying out. This number had popped up loads before, and as soon as I finished the form, the calls started back up again. I answered a few times but they’d just ring for a couple seconds and hang up. I picked up the phone and it was a woman with a northern accent asking if I was ‘my mum’s name’. She claimed to be ringing from Amplifon and mentioned my mum was scheduled for a hearing test. Oddly, she said the local branch was open, but as far as I know, it’s actually shut at the moment!
