He then proceeded to say there was some cash owed to me from this non-existent investment and insisted I download an application called AnyDesk. Naturally, I thought to myself, “This feels a bit off,” so I did some digging online and quickly realised it was a scam. I firmly told him to bugger off and made it clear I didn't wish to be contacted again. The app they so desperately want you to install is essentially a vehicle for them to access your device and siphon off your personal information. Massive warning sign if you ever receive a call like that! If someone tries to get you to download this app, be on your guard-it's all about prying into your private details such as banking info and the like.
