I just wanted to warn everyone about a bunch of Asian scammers attempting to fish for bank details. Seriously, don't buy into any of their dodgy claims or what have you. There’s no legitimate company behind this - whatever name they throw at you is just nonsense. If we all choose to ignore these calls, they won’t be able to access our hard-earned cash. They’re deliberately hiding their identity, and it makes no sense at all. If you see a number starting with +44, just know it’s not a proper landline but rather some robotic farce. Please, do take a moment to report these fraud attempts - you can do so at phishing.gov.uk, and if you text "dall" to 7726, you'll help combat this nonsense. Stay vigilant!

I received a rather dodgy call from an unknown number claiming that my bank account had been hit for £900. They said to "press one for help," which immediately raised my suspicions. I promptly checked my bank statements, and it was all a pack of lies! I've since blocked the number and reported it. Just a heads up to everyone-watch out for these scammers!

Received a message purporting to be from Amazon, stating that an order for an iPhone was confirmed. However, I can confidently say I never placed such an order!

Ah, the age-old ruse of slashing 30% off your O2 bill for good - it's as dodgy as a three-pound note! They feign putting you through to their 'supervisor', who, funnily enough, seems to be just a few desks down at the call centre in Mumbai. Then they’ll ask you for a six-digit code, claiming they need it to access your account after sending you a text. But wait a minute, doesn't that text explicitly warn against sharing it with anyone, even O2 staff? The scammer will brush that off with some nonsense like, "Not to worry, Sir! Just this once is all I need it!" And should you fall for it, guess what? They’ll promptly order a swanky new phone using your account details and have it delivered to a PO box of their choosing, leaving you stuck to sort out the aftermath. What a stitch-up!

I just hung up on this caller and added the number to my block list, and I’m glad I did!

It seems there's been an individual masquerading as a representative from a telecommunications company that's in the midst of a merger with my current provider. They were fishing for information to supposedly keep my service going. What a complete farce! Just a bunch of dodgy tricksters, if you ask me.

I reached out to the police, and they advised me to file a report with Action Fraud, as well as to alert others via social media. It appears that these platforms alone aren't enough to shield the public from their deceitful antics. The authorities suggest that anyone facing this onslaught should create awareness posts and share them widely to keep the community informed about these despicable scams. Knowledge is our greatest weapon against these vile crooks. Alarmingly, it seems they’ve managed to swindle countless people out of hundreds of thousands of pounds in recent days. So, let’s rally together and spread the word to help put an end to this!

Vectone Mobile Limited - I’m curious to know who peddled this number. It seems they're a company specialising in distributing phone numbers, often used by con artists for unscrupulous activities aimed at fleecing unsuspecting individuals. They offer both landline and mobile numbers and even provide a roster of live lines to reach out to. So, if you happen to receive a call from a VoIP number linked to them, chances are your number's been included in that dubious directory.

To effectively combat the rising tide of scam calls and messages, it’s crucial we all play our part: REPORT THEM! If you encounter dodgy emails or have screenshots of unpleasant messages, send them over to '[email protected]'. For any scammy or offensive texts, make sure to forward them to ‘7726’. Just a heads-up, clicking on dubious links can potentially unleash malware onto your device. You can send a message saying CALL to ‘7726’, detailing the scammy numbers you’ve encountered - this will unleash an alert about the suspicious number across your network provider. Don’t forget to have a word with your MP about these pesky scams! Should you have unknowingly provided your bank details to a scammer, it’s imperative you contact your bank right away. Then, report it to ‘action fraud’, followed by notifying ‘7726’, and share your experiences here as well.
