I ignored the call and later found a voicemail waiting. They said they were from HMRC and claimed I owed money, telling me to press one to make a payment right away or face enforcement. Don’t believe this for a second! HMRC never phones you out of the blue asking for immediate cash, especially not from a mobile number. It’s definitely a scam. Best thing to do is report it, block the number, and delete the message.
