On the morning of Thursday 12th December, around 9:15am, I received a call from a woman claiming there was some 'suspicious activity' on my bank account. She didn’t specify which bank but mentioned a payment of £198 to Amazon. I didn’t respond and ended the call straight away. I then quickly checked the number by dialling 1471. The caller ID showed 07889 605577. After a quick search online, I found that numbers starting with 07889 are often linked to scams like this. Be careful and block this number - these people are nothing but con artists and thieves!
