I got a call from some insulation firm and as soon as I asked what they wanted, the bloke got proper nasty, chucking rude insults at me. He had the cheek to slag off my insulation job and went on about some law changes - which was daft because I haven’t had any insulation put in for over 50 years. He tried all posh-like on the phone, but when I started questioning him about the legal stuff, his tone flipped and he started calling me all sorts, including some very unprofessional swear words. Being a former police officer myself, it just rolled right off me like it was nothing.

Got a ring from some insulation firm offering a free thermal check to see if our place needed any work done. I told them we live in a flat building and asked if they’d cover the entire block. As soon as I said that, they just cut the call. Bit strange, really!
