Later on, they tried ringing me again from a different number, probably trying to book an appointment or whatever. I ignored it. The first call came from Cornwall, but we’re down here in the south. Normally, I’d just hang up straight away on calls like this. Wish I had done it this time. The person on the phone sounded like some kind of AI called Jane or something. They mentioned someone would phone back to sort out a time for a survey, and sure enough, I got two calls afterwards but I just didn’t pick up. What really set off my alarm bells was when Jane asked me for my last name and wanted me to spell it out during the first call.
