Got a text from 07888 571556 saying someone tried adding a new payee using my phone. The message warned it wasn’t me and asked to check it out at some link that looked dodgy: [#]newpayeeadd-secure[###]/nationwide. Pretty sure it’s a scam, but the number was different from others I’ve seen before. Just be careful if you get anything similar!

Got a text supposedly from HSBC saying there's been a payment try on a new payee using a device I don’t know. It said if it wasn’t me, go to some dodgy link with “safeguardnewpayee” in it. Problem is, I don’t even have an HSBC account, so obviously it’s a scam. Just a heads up to everyone: never click on links in messages like these, always ring your bank straight away to check.
