Someone rang me up using my full name, claiming to be from Amazon about a failed iPhone order on my account. He asked if I’d made the purchase, but I said no and checked my account with no sign of it. He then insisted it was hidden from me. Suddenly, he started quizzing me on the phone I currently use. I quickly pointed out that none of that made sense for a bogus order, so he couldn’t be legit Amazon. We talked for a bit longer, and he basically admitted he was a scammer, bragging about how much money his company’s making and showing no remorse for scamming folks.
