At 7.42am, I got a call from a bloke with a foreign accent asking for my husband by name. He even mentioned our address and said it was about our computer. Then on Wednesday 4th October, the same number rang again but this time it was a foreign lady. Our number is ex-directory, so we're a bit suspicious if this could be linked to TalkTalk. When we switched our internet provider, TalkTalk got really nasty, constantly phoning us and claiming we owed money long after we’d cancelled. They also kept sending letters and bills. To me, this feels both threatening and a form of harassment.

Got a call around 7.20 this evening. My wife answered and they started asking who the computer belongs to in our place. She told them to stop bothering us and hung up right away.

So, got a call from this lady with a strange accent, said she was from Microsoft or something, warning me my computer licence was gonna be cancelled. I let her ramble on for a bit just to see what nonsense she was spinning. Turns out, she was some sort of hacker trying to get me to enter stuff on my PC, which obviously I refused to do. Honestly, people need to watch out for these scammers. After a few minutes of her going on, I just told her off and hung up.

They claimed to be from some official bod and said my computer was sending illegal stuff through some third party. The weird thing is, they didn't even know my email or who my service provider was. Smells like a typical scam to me, so I ended the call pretty quick, even though they warned me I'd lose access to my computer in 15 days.

Some bloke rang up saying he was from computer licensing and that they’d been trying to reach me for weeks. He said I hadn’t responded and warned that my computer licence would be cancelled in 15 days because someone was using my name claiming bankruptcy and begging for cash for food. He reckoned it wasn’t me and that my computer must’ve been hacked. I told him if that was true, they’d try a smarter way to contact me than sending someone to ring me. Then I told him to hang up and never call again.
