This definitely feels like a con. Someone texted my mother-in-law pretending to be her daughter, saying this was her new phone number because her old one got water damaged. There was no personal info shared, and when my mother-in-law asked for details, none were given. Plus, she couldn’t get through when she tried calling back. I’ve read about other people getting texts from similar numbers, and eventually they end up asking for cash, so I’m pretty sure it’s a scam.
