Got a call on Tuesday 15th March 2022 at 8:13 in the morning from an automated message saying it was HMRC. It said there were errors in my tax submission and warned I might get a criminal record. Press 1 if I wanted to talk to someone from HMRC. Honestly seemed like a total scam to me. HMRC never call from standard mobile numbers, they don’t use robots, don’t threaten you, and always know your name. Plus, you can ring them back anytime if you’re worried.
