An older woman got in touch with our housing law office, worried that the council was planning to take her belongings because of a tax debt of over £1000. She happened to mention someone called “ricky bird” and gave us the number he used. We looked it up online and spotted it was a common scam. We advised her to just ignore any further calls from him or firmly ask him to leave her alone.

Got a call from someone claiming to be an ‘enforcement agent’ called Ricky Bird. He threatened to confiscate our stuff and auction it off because of unpaid council tax. The letter they sent looked really dodgy, full of scribbles like it was done by hand. What bugs me is they must have rifled through our mail to get the landlord’s name - kinda creepy really.

So I've been getting calls from what seems like Croydon EA claiming they're enforcement agents with court backing, threatening to come round my place to seize stuff. They kept telling me to get in touch with some Mr Bird. Bit dodgy if you ask me.
