I got a recorded call claiming I’d messed up my National Insurance number and had to fix it straight away by pressing 1. The message went on with loads of info that just made me more anxious. I just ended the call right away without giving any info or pressing anything.

Got a call from a guy with a South African accent who mentioned my daughter’s name but said she wasn’t there. Then he quickly used my last name and mumbo jumbo about an accident. I told him I hadn’t been in any accident and he just ended the chat nicely. Not sure if it was some scam, cold call, or someone trying to get info.

Got a call from someone claiming to be with AMS, said it was about a car accident I supposedly had. When I asked how they got my info, they said it was from the other person involved, but when I pressed for exactly who, they just went quiet and mentioned something about data protection rules. Told them it’s dodgy and illegal to cold call like that, then they just cut me off.

Someone rang me on my mobile 07884 155728 and cut me off before I could say anything. Now it says the number is suspicious. After reading what others have gone through, I’m definitely going to block it. My phone also showed a message saying your phone is infected - what’s that about?!

A bloke named Darren, sounded like he was from South Africa, rang me up and started off by using my first name. When I asked him to say it again because the line was rubbish, he switched to my surname instead. He said it was about some “no blame car accident” I’d supposedly been involved in recently. Normally I’d mess about with these calls, spinning wild tales about things like aeroplanes, rare animals or famous people just to waste their time. But honestly, I couldn’t be bothered today so I just ended the call straight away.
