Got a text from someone saying they were using their friend’s phone and it was about to run out of battery, asking me to iMessage them instead. Thing is, my daughter is a teenager and she was home at the time.

It's weird, but it feels like they've got hold of my landline somehow. My mum rang me from her partner's number, and then the very next day that same number sent a text to him pretending to be me, asking for money to be sent over to a bank account. Luckily, my mum knows me well enough to know I’d never ask for something like that. There was also another number involved, so definitely a dodgy scam. Watch out for this sort of thing!

Got a call from someone pretending to be a kid, said their phone was busted and they needed to reach their mum or dad. They rang from a couple different numbers and asked me to send money to a bank account. Quite suspicious if you ask me!

Sad to say, you can’t report scam tries straight to the police via the 'action fraud' website anymore since it’s been shut down - maybe they did it to save money? If that annoys you, maybe drop a complaint to your local MP. Although the website is gone, you can still email screenshots of scam messages to the cyber crime unit at '[email protected]', plus don’t forget to also forward them to 7726.

I got a text from this number saying they were my kid but I don’t have any children so I thought it might be a scam, just wanted to be sure.
