Got a message from this number saying it was Pulse (credit card) about some transaction on my card. Earlier, I got a text from Pulse themselves saying I'd get a message from this number. I checked my account and rang Pulse using the number on their site, and they confirmed I had some activity and those messages were legit. Though it seemed a bit dodgy at first, it appears to be the real deal.

Got a text from this number so I decided to check it out. I got a bit anxious when I saw the transactions showed up on my account and thought about calling Pulse straight away. But then I remembered I’d already had a message from Pulse beforehand from a number I trust, warning me that they’d be contacting me about suspicious activity and giving the number they’d text from. I replied ‘Y’ because I recognised the payments, and shortly after, they apologised and told me to attempt any failed payments again. Hopefully this clears things up for anyone else wondering.

In the early hours, I got a call saying my credit card was charged for a Playstation, which was meant to be some kind of alert.

They call pretending there’s some dodgy activity on your credit card and want you to ring them back to sort it out. Totally trying to scam you with fake fraud alerts on your card.

Got a couple of automated calls on my home phone supposedly from the Debenhams fraud team. Then they rang saying something about a dodgy purchase on a Debenhams card. Didn’t believe it, so just left their calls unanswered.

Got a text about a payment, apparently from my hotel saying my card got declined. It read something like: "Important notice. Did you make a purchase with your John Lewis card on 24-11-2023 at ******* HOTELS LIMITED for GBP ******?" It also showed a couple of legit transactions I knew about. The message asked me to reply 'Y' if all the charges were mine, or 'N' to get in touch with their fraud team. Quite worrying to get something like that out of the blue!

On 10th November 2023, I got a call that sounded super legit, the person knew stuff about my account and recent payments. They talked me into giving them the OTP code saying they needed to sort out my account. Later, the proper fraud team told me it was a scam. Heads up - they rang me around 7:30pm and kept the chat going just long enough for the real customer service to shut down at 8pm.
