I received a rather alarming call from some con artists who claimed I was in hot water over unpaid taxes and even tax evasion. They were trying to scare me into hitting '1' to avoid further legal troubles. No doubt in my mind that this isn't a legitimate HMRC number at all!

Got a call from a woman named Sharie who said she was from marketing, called me three times. Felt a bit iffy about it, told her I wasn’t interested and then just ended the call. Watch out, people!

They’ve rung me like five times already, but never bothered to leave a message which just feels shady to me. If it’s not someone I know, I just don’t pick up. I only gave this number out as a backup for sites that need a phone number, so honestly, it’s probably dodgy.

Sounds like a scam to me. Someone pretending to be from HMRC told me they were going to take legal steps against me. Definitely felt like a con.
