Received a message that read, “Hey Mum, I've broken my phone! Please jot down my new number until it’s fixed at the repair shop. Drop me a line at 07883306276 and let me know once you've saved it, cheers x.” When I tried to ring it back, all I got was some dreadful hold music. Just to clarify, I’m a chap with no offspring whatsoever!

I got a call a while back checking if my fridge was still running properly since I’d apparently got some sort of extended warranty. On a different occasion, they rang me about whether the cavity wall insulation I had was still in decent shape. Quite random, if you ask me!

Avoid getting involved with this lot at all costs. They say they handle PPI claims for you but end up hitting you with all sorts of fees, supposedly because their system requires it. They assure you these fees will be reimbursed as part of your claim amount, but the payouts they promise to send the very next day never actually turn up. Just got word from my bank’s fraud team that these people are con artists, and the accounts where the money’s been sent are currently being looked into.

I got a call saying i was owed another payment for a car accident that supposedly happened in the last two years. They didnt know the exact date of the accident but claimed the insurance company owed me anywhere from £1000 to £5000 for a ‘small fender bender’. I told the real insurance firm about this con so they're clued up, and i also passed the info onto action fraud.
