6 monthsJust got a call today, and it turned out to be one of those blockchain scams.9 yearsIt’s horrible how these scammers prey on elderly folks who are vulnerable. Phone companies really ought to set international calls as blocked right from the start, and only let people turn them on if they choose to!9 yearsBeen getting calls from this number, plus three others, loads of times daily. I usually don’t pick up if I don’t know the number, but it’s getting really annoying since it’s happening nearly every day for weeks now.9 yearsThey seem really keen to hack into your computer and trick you. They say they’re from loads of different firms, which just shows how desperate they are. If you fancy a laugh and have the time, be polite and play them along, then finish off by blasting some loud tunes, radio, or a whistle down the phone. Just make sure you keep it friendly - that way, you both end up properly annoyed.9 yearsThey rang me quite early this morning, I went down to answer but they’d already hung up. Then later on, the same number kept calling throughout the day, but when I tried calling back and entered their number, it directed me to this website! Usually, I get calls from abroad or for sales, but this number was unfamiliar and looked like a regular mobile.9 yearsAfter seeing all the comments about this number, I've gone ahead and blocked 07881935815.9 yearsGot a call from some bloke called 'Peter' claiming my computer was hacked, sounded like he had a thick Indian accent. I kept pressing him to say which server spotted this supposed hack but he dodged the question every time. Next call like this I’m definitely telling them to check with TPS!PeterTPS9 yearsSupposedly from BTOpenreach. When I mentioned that there are other providers in the UK, he lost it and started swearing at me, calling me all sorts and asking if I fancied sucking him off. I just ended the call right there.BT OpenreachUK9 yearsGot a call from an Indian call centre yesterday. As soon as I told them I'm on the TPS and to stop calling me and to delete my number, they just cut the call straight away. Same old story!Telephone Preference Service9 yearsGot a call from this number, some bloke claiming to be with Norton security. Said he needed to fix my antivirus if I logged on. Seems like these scams are getting more common lately. When I asked for his name and who he actually worked for, he just hung up on me. Quite dodgy if you ask me.Norton Security9 yearsGot a robo call saying HM Customs & Excise had taken legal action against me, asking me to press 1 to talk to an officer. It never left a voicemail and looked totally like a scam.HM Revenue and Customs9 yearsThis morning I received a call from the number, a bloke claiming to be from BT saying my computer was under hacking threat. He identified himself as Steven D408236 and mentioned an address at 81 Newgate, London. I looked it up and that address actually matches BT’s office. I told him straight up I don’t even own a computer. He stayed polite throughout and didn’t just cut me off.BTStevenNewgateLondon9 yearsGot a call today from a bloke claiming to be from Talk Talk, sounded foreign. When I told him I don’t own a computer, he started swearing about me and my family like he actually knew us. Used some pretty harsh language. It could be really distressing for others. I mostly ignored him and just let him carry on until he finally put the phone down. Not a nice experience at all.9 yearsI got a call from someone saying they were with Nationwide, but they just hung up straight away. Seems like it might be one of those phishing scams!Nationwide9 yearsGot yet another annoying silent call from 07881935815. Honestly, it’s like people are trading private numbers or something!9 yearsGot a call from a woman's automated voice but it didn't pay attention and just cut me off.9 yearsGot a call from this Indian guy with awful English, trying the typical Microsoft scam. I just told him to piss off and then blocked the number.Microsoft9 yearsGot a call from a lady claiming to represent the Telephone directory service. Bit odd since I already told the last annoying caller not to do cold calls as per my request. She left an 0203 number for me to ring back, but of course, I didn’t bother. Sounds like a classic scam to me.Telephone Directory Service9 yearsGot a call from someone claiming to be Microsoft Tech Support - total scam.Microsoft Tech Support9 yearsGot a call off someone claiming to be James from Symantec about my Norton not updating. He already had my email and name which felt dodgy. I fired off a bunch of questions, even asked where he was calling from, and he just cut me off. Definitely a scam!JamesSymantecNorton9 yearsSome bloke rang claiming to be from the company that supplied our washing machine. He wanted to check our names, which he already mentioned. I asked why he needed to ask again if he already knew, and who he said he was with. He said he was checking if the washing machine was working alright. I asked if there was an issue and kept asking who he was and which company he was from. After a few times of questioning, he just hung up. Washing machine company? Seems dodgy to me. I’ve put the number on block now.9 yearsI tried ringing the number back but it just tells me it’s not recognised. Probably some muppet with too much time on their hands making bogus calls. Anyway, I've blocked it now.9 yearsGot a call from a woman claiming to be from the "Microsoft Windows team." She said someone had been using my login credentials for some illegal stuff, which wasn’t true at all since we don’t have any Microsoft machines here - everything's Mac. When I asked her to repeat or prove it, she insisted it was true. I called her out for lying, told her my number is ex-directory, and she just hung up. Pretty sure it was one of those scams where they try to get your details or hack your computer by sending a virus. Best to stay well away from calls like that.Windows Microsoft TeamMicrosoft9 yearsSomeone rang me claiming to be from BT’s internet support, saying there was a problem with our internet connection.BTSubmit Your Own Report (07881 935815)
