Oops, about my earlier comment - I’ve just checked and this number isn’t dodgy at all. It’s someone who calls me once in a while, and I’ve now worked out who it is. Sorry for the quick judgement before, but I think it's quite natural to be a bit wary and curious when you get unexpected calls. Please ignore what I said earlier!

This number, 07881 850044, called my landline just before 7 pm, then tried again a minute later. Honestly, any number finishing in 0044 or 0055 sets off alarm bells for me. The caller was silent at first, just then muttered "Hello" but I didn't respond at all. The scammer soon realised I wasn’t going to bite and hung up straight away both times. I've blocked the number now. Back to my night as normal.
