I got an email with a PayPal logo saying they'd charged me 980 dollars for activation after sending a tiny 2 cent deposit. I tried ringing the number they gave, 0800 368 4157, but couldn't make out what they were saying. Then they actually rang me back through WhatsApp, again showing PayPal's branding, but it was all fishy.
