Quite a dodgy scam this one. Got messages pretending to be my son, saying he’d lost his phone and was stuck using an old, busted one, then asked me to send him £1800 for some urgent bills. He refused to send a photo or ring me back, didn’t want me calling his old number and wouldn’t say what bills he needed the money for. The same number messaged my son's sisters too, but they were wary and didn’t reply. I’ve blocked the number now and told my son it looks like someone’s got hold of his contact list.
