Got a call today on my phone from 07771022824, it rang for about a minute before some automated voice started talking. It said something like, "I NEED TO DISCUSS WORK, MESSAGE ME ON WHATSAPP," then ended the call straight away before I even got to hang up. I've blocked the number now. This happened around 4:30pm on 14th April 2025.

If I’m not waiting for a call, I just keep quiet, cos usually there’s a click after a bit and no robotic voice starts after I talk. Had a couple like that this week: the most recent was from 01282-772000. I looked it up online, and it’s from Burnley!! Then just a couple days ago, I got one from a London number - 020-3896-1264 - definitely a scam. Watch out!

Got a call on my landline from 0128 6862680. It was an automated voice, a lady saying there were issues with my internet and to press 1 for help. Now they just keep ringing, must be one of those annoying robocall things.

07879285174 - This idiot has rang me about 3 times now pretending to be from some life insurance review place. They asked if anything’s changed in my life that could impact my life insurance. When I asked why, they said the law had changed recently and it might affect my policy. I told them to send me a letter, but they said they only do reviews over the phone (yeah right). When I asked what law had changed, they just hung up on me. Be warned, when they bring up life insurance and law changes, it’s just to scare you - tell them to get lost and hang up straight away. Then block the number.

Got a ring from a bloke with a strong Indian accent calling himself ‘George!’ who claimed the government was clearing ALL my debts - I told him that was well kind, but I ain't got no debts - then he just ended the call straight away!!

Got a call today claiming I owe money I don’t even have. I told the bloke I’m on the do not call list, and I was about to report him, then he just dropped the call before I could say anymore.

Got loads of calls from this number before, always asking me to verify my postcode. Every time I ask why, they just hang up. Today, they rang again saying they were from Citizens Advice. I asked for the name of the company but he wouldn't say. I told him the call was being recorded and that I suspected it was a scam, and I’d report it to the police. You could tell he got really flustered and nervous before I ended the call. Safe to say, I blocked the number - it’s definitely a scam!!!!

Got a call from this guy today who instantly got really annoyed when I asked why my number showed as mobile and where he got it from. Claimed he was ringing from some debt collection place and when I told him to take my number off their list, he just said alright but warned a debt collector would turn up at my house on Monday. I don’t owe anything at all!

This number has rung me up a couple of times. First, they said they were from something called Credit Investigation Department, but when I asked questions it was obvious it was a scam and they just cut me off. The second time they claimed to be from the Office of Fair Trading (which actually shut down in 2014!). When I called them out on that, the bloke told me to F*** Off and started shouting insults. Best to just block this number for good.

Got a call from a man with an Indian accent asking for my daughter by name. I told him he had the wrong number. He said he was from some investigation agency and wanted me to bring her to him. I refused, then he asked if she lived with me. I said yes, she’s only eleven after all. Then he said he must have phoned the wrong person and just hung up ????.

I got a call from an Asian bloke, couldn’t really make out what he was saying properly. He kept talking about something to do with unsecured debt - I just hung up and got back to my telly, let him ramble away until he eventually gave up and hung up!

Got a couple of calls today from blokes with really dodgy English and rude behaviour, pretending to be Michael and Dominic but clearly calling from miles away. The line was awful with loads of crackling. The second one hung up straight away when I started asking what info they actually had. Weirdly, trying to ring back just gets cut off straight away! Honestly, just block and ignore them right away! It’s cheeky how they’re now using mobile numbers instead of 0800 or 0161 numbers.

Hey all, you should try the android app named Should I Answer. It shows real-time info on who’s calling. Plus, it has a community score from everyday users like us, telling you if the number is a telemarketer or a scammer and stuff. Super useful really. Also, you can block any numbers you mark as annoying or suspicious. Definitely recommend it!

i just got a call from this number. the person said they were from citizens advice about some debt. when i tried asking her some questions, she suddenly got really rude and started shouting. i told her to chill and not talk to me like that. then she called me stupid and said i didnt understand english. she had a strong indian accent which made it really hard to follow what she was saying. honestly, if you see this number pop up, dont even bother picking up! have a good weekend all! dawn, london.

Got a call this morning from this number saying they were from the citizen advice bureau in birmingham. They claimed they had a letter from the fea about a debt i supposedly owe (which i don't). Told them i already had a call yday and i dont owe anything. The bloke quickly hung up on me! These annoying calls really worry me, especially for older folks like my mum who'd be terrified and think it was legit. Also, yesterday's number was 07714 748182 and when you try to call back both numbers, they just say not recognised. How are they allowed to do this???

I received two of these nuisance calls today, and I must say, the chaps on the other end were hardly articulate, with a rather rude disposition as well. The line was absolute rubbish-full of crackles and interference. The second caller hung up as soon as I inquired about what specifics they had on me. I found it quite amusing that when I attempted to ring back, the call was instantly disconnected! Make sure to BLOCK and IGNORE them without hesitation! It’s utterly outrageous that they've decided to use a mobile number instead of the usual 0800 or 0161 formats... - the number in question: 07879285174. Someone called asking about some sort of debt, I told them I just turned 18 and this woman suddenly got all rude and impatient with me, so I ended the call 'cause I wasn’t about to put up with that attitude.
