I got a call from a woman who said her name was Alison and that she worked for "Global Recovery". She had a strong Russian accent and started talking about helping me get back money I supposedly lost from some online investments, which I never made. I cut her off and told her straight up it was a scam, then ended the call.

My phone rang today and after I picked up, there was this automated message telling me to get in touch with HMRC. It then switched me over to some other line, and when someone finally answered with "how can I help?", I mentioned I’d been passed along from another caller but I wasn’t given any explanation. Right after that, the call just got cut off. Sounds like a classic scam to me.
