Today I got a call from this number, which looked like a UK one, so I picked up. Right away, a voice recording threatened me saying HMRC would arrest me for fraud unless I pressed 1. I didn’t bother pressing anything and just hung up. I wasn’t really worried since I figured it was a scam, but I can imagine how some folks could get really scared by it. No idea what would happen if you actually pressed 1, but these calls are just plain wrong and definitely need to be looked into.
