On my Samsung phone, and I imagine on loads of other Androids too, there’s an option in the call menu that lets you add numbers straight to a block list. I got one of those annoying calls today, but since I’ve been blocking these kinds of numbers for a while now, they don’t bother me much anymore. They’re getting pretty uncommon these days.

Got this exact message earlier saying something like "According to our info, you were involved in a no-fault crash within the past three years... you know, the usual stuff. The advice given was to forward the message to your mobile network to flag it. Pretty sure most networks accept reports at 7726 - that spells SPAM on a phone keypad.

No, i haven't been in any crash unless you count the time i tracked down the joker who sent this and ended up hurt after giving him a proper hiding. What makes it worse for me is that I've actually had a no-fault accident within the past 3 years, so it’s hard to tell the legit messages apart from the dodgy ones trying to cash in. Luckily I found this site, so now I can spot the scammers and won’t be replying to them.

Got a pointless text like that too, so I replied using a phone number that doesn’t take calls, with this message:

According to our files, you are a complete idiot with a hole where your brain should be. Reply YES for details. Reply NO to stop messages.

You can totally steal this and send it back if you want. There are loads of websites out there that let you send texts without giving your real number.
