I honestly don’t find this sketchy at all. Telesign usually acts as a middleman helping to send texts through different providers, and I reckon this 'Sender ID' is just one of their usual generic tags they throw on sometimes.

Every time I try to log into my Yahoo, this number sends me the security code instead of Yahoo itself. I’ve logged out multiple times hoping for the code straight from Yahoo, but those codes never work! Strangely enough, only the ones from this number get accepted. Feels really dodgy to me.

They told me “Your card is frozen for technical issues. Freeze it now at the website, activate-debit card” which was total rubbish. Honestly, don’t believe any of it, never click on those links, and never give out info. Plus, a random number from abroad messaging you about your card? Yeah, it’s def a scam, don’t fall for it lol.

I noticed this number pop up just as I was logging into my online bank to sort some bills. I got a text with a verification code but saw this unknown number at the top and instantly got suspicious. So, I chose not to use the code, didn’t log in, and held off on paying anything. Seems like a phishing attempt for sure, but I’m baffled how this number even knew I was trying to access my account and how it showed up on my phone all of a sudden?

Just set up a brand new Windows 10 on my work PC, no dodgy sites visited or anything sketchy. Then out of nowhere, I get a text from +44 7873 077777. Weirdly, I logged into my Battle.net account (Blizzard) for the first time in probably 5 years, and right after, I get a message claiming my account’s been locked. Checked it straight away and it wasn’t. Honestly, no clue how these are linked, but the scammers definitely have their act together.

Was trying to purchase an item on Ebay - they asked me to log in, then sent me a code via text right away. I didn’t enter the code, so I rang the number back - it went straight to a voicemail saying I’d hit my monthly credit limit and couldn’t make calls beyond my balance unless I topped up??? I’ve since upped the security on my phone and blocked that number.

I got a text saying it was a security or activation code from eBay. The thing is, I never asked for any code, nor have I done anything on my account that would cause one to be sent. I’m not sure if it’s a legit alert - like someone trying to log into my account from another device - or if it’s just a scammer faking the number. Either way, it seemed fishy, so I just ignored it and deleted the message.

Loads of folks reckon this number's dodgy because of all the different verification texts it sends out. But after I double checked it myself, I can see why it might come across like a scam. It's actually used by a bunch of companies though. For example, I've received my eBay and Steam verification codes on it, which I did request. If you ever get codes you didn’t ask for, it probably means someone else tried to verify their account with your number but failed. The owners of the number aren’t behind it.

Keep receiving all sorts of verification codes on this number. The tricky part is, some legit companies like Microsoft, LinkedIn, Blizzard send codes here too when I use their services. Their messages always have the company’s name before the code and I usually expect them, so I’m a bit hesitant to block the number. But then there’s these random texts with no sender ID and I wasn’t expecting any - makes it a bit confusing to figure out what to do.

I was waiting for a verification code from my account provider, expecting the provider's name first, then the code. Instead, after a pause, the code came directly from the unfamiliar phone number, making me click resend. Only then did I get a proper message with the provider's name and the same code. I lost my old phone earlier and seriously think it got hacked before I could get in touch with my provider to block it. There's no way I'm gonna use that code to verify my account with this number. I might have to ditch this phone and take extra steps to keep everything safe now.
