Got a text from an unknown number saying something about santanbank. It said a new payee was set up from a device I don’t know on 13/01. If it’s not me, they told me to check a website. Bit fishy, if you ask me.

I got a call from +447926401389 saying they were calling from santander bank about a payee being added on an unknown device. The thing is, I had just added a payee myself on a device I always use, and it’d been more than 6 hours since I did it. It sounded fishy to me anyway, especially since the call came from what looked like a normal mobile number.

just got a message saying santanbank: 'a new payee was added from an unknown device on xx/xx/2021'. it had a sketchy link attached. i pasted the link into virustotal and loads of security sites flagged it as phishing. never heard of santanbank before, but it kinda looks like they're pretending to be santander. if you bank with santander, you'd know they never text you from some random number. like, common sense really, they use official channels not random texts. so yeah, don’t click that link if you see a msg like this.
