I got a dodgy automated message saying Amazon was trying to get hold of me about a £1,200 withdrawal from my account. It told me to press 1 to cancel or 2 to speak to someone. Thing is, I don’t even have an Amazon account! I tried ringing them back but the number doesn’t connect, so it’s obviously a scam. The voicemail just wants you to pick one of their fake options while you’re listening. If I ever do talk to one of these people, I’m planning to give them fake card details just to see what they do, then call them out for trying to cheat people once it doesn’t work.
