Today, on 1st September 2023, I got a call from this number, and the person said it was about fraudulent activity on my MasterCard. I looked at my bank and everything seemed fine. From what I’ve read in other comments, it seems like this number was first used for energy scams.

I got a call from someone claiming to be from Amazon, saying there was a problem with my account and mentioned I’d bought a new phone. The person was really tough to make out, and it soon seemed obvious it was a scam.

They claimed they were checking energy usage and mentioned someone nearby could pop round to inspect the house. I just told them I wasn’t interested and ended the call.
