Every day, I get loads of calls from these numbers and honestly, the people behind them are really unpleasant. Lately, they’ve been acting way more aggressive and even threatening, which is pretty scary. I reckon they’re so bold because they know hardly anyone bothers to report them, so they just keep getting away with it. This mess up needs sorting out ASAP - should’ve been handled ages ago.

Someone called me up and was really aggressive, saying they’d come round and bash me up if I didn’t pay up for some driveway work. I’m completely baffled as I never had any job done on my driveway! They even claimed they had my address and would be coming to collect the cash. Proper nasty bunch. Not sure if I should take this threat seriously or just ignore it.

Have a look at the red flagged comment a couple below here and also the green one added on 05/06. Honestly, it's such a bad idea to ring back numbers you don’t recognise. Trust me, calling back just to give them a piece of your mind can actually get you into some serious mess. Don’t think putting your number on private will save you either - these scammers are clever and have ways around that.

Like a few folks here, I got a call from someone with an Indian accent pretending to be from Sky’s maintenance team. They said my insurance for maintaining my Sky box had run out, but I could renew it today without any extra fees. I told them straight away I knew it was dodgy since I don’t have any such insurance. Some bloke called George rang me up, claiming to be from Sky Maintenance. He was trying to push some sort of renewal deal for a TV maintenance plan. I got the feeling he wasn’t even sure if he was flogging insurance or a maintenance contract. After I grilled him a bit, he admitted this ‘Sky’ had bugger all to do with the Sky Media company, kinda like how Diana Spencer has nothing to do with the trousers I bought at Marks and Spencer. After about half an hour of back and forth, I just told him no thanks and ended the call.

I’m honestly fed up with these constant calls. I thought it was something important when I saw a mobile number pop up, so I picked up. The guy on the other end was an Asian man who said he was from Sky - which is strange because I’ve never been a Sky customer. He wanted to talk to someone with my name, so I asked what the call was about and if he was dealing with a scam problem or something. Instead of explaining, he just insisted he needed to speak to that person. I told him he’d reached a scam report line and warned calls are recorded and monitored. Then he just hung up on me.

Got a call from someone named "Leo" who said he was ringing from Sky about insuring my TV. Pretty sure he was somewhere in India, probably the Delhi office. I spotted it was a dodgy call right away but decided to mess around a bit. He tried to sell me a policy for £90 a year or £9 a month. I told him I'd go for the monthly plan and bump up my Direct Debit, then was stunned when he said Sky doesn't do Direct Debit payments anymore - only card payments now. Told him I’d ring back later!
