I got a call from someone pretending to be from a UK court, threatening me with legal trouble if I didn’t pay council tax straight away. Since I did have a payment coming up, I said I’d put the caller on hold and sort the payment through the normal council channels. They said they’d give me bank details on the phone and that I should send the money there. When I asked if they really expected me to transfer cash to some unknown account, they just cut the call. If you’re thinking of reporting these people, maybe try to get those bank details first.
