Today, on 17/10/2024, I got a call and as soon as I picked up, there was a few seconds of silence before a recorded voice started telling me my Amazon card was being charged £700. I didn’t hang about - I just ended the call and blocked the number straight away. After running a virus scan, I double-checked both my bank and Amazon accounts and everything seemed fine. Pretty obvious it was a scam attempt. I even sent a message to Amazon saying “Scam Busters are watching!” just to be safe.
