Got a call from someone saying they were from HSBC, telling me a new payee had been added to my account. Thing is, I don't even bank with HSBC, so it’s obviously a con.

Got a text saying someone dodgy was added as a payee to my HSBC account. They told me to cancel it at newpayee-alerts.link. Thing is, HSBC don’t even use that number to send messages.

This has got to be one of the dumbest HSBC scams! Seriously, who’d believe that HSBC would ring you on a mobile number? Makes me wonder how thick some folks are.
