I received a call purporting to be from Mastercard, saying I needed to press 1 immediately to halt a £700 charge. The entire thing seemed rather fishy, especially since it was just a pre-recorded message. I thought it best to check my bank account first, and lo and behold, there was no sign of such a charge. So, I decided to terminate the call right then and there!

So I got a call saying it was from Visa Mastercard about a £700 charge and they told me to press 1 if I wanted to cancel it. I looked at my bank and couldn’t see any transaction like that pending, so I just ended the call!
