I got a rather dubious text asking me to validate a couple of transactions, none of which I actually made. Took a glance at my bank account, and surprise, surprise-there was no sign of those transactions. Quite unsettling, if you ask me!

I received a call supposedly from the John Lewis Credit Card Fraud Prevention team, and I must say, they were extremely convincing - they had a wealth of information at their disposal. However, when I declined to answer with a straightforward "yes" or "no," their insistence grew. When I mentioned wanting to contact the credit card department myself, they pressured me to respond quickly to avoid my card being blocked. Eventually, they hung up. It's a bit alarming, as the genuine fraud prevention team isn't available after 7pm, so I’ll need to report this first thing tomorrow. In the meantime, I’ve taken the precaution of freezing my card online.

Similar to what others have mentioned, I got what seemed to be an authentic text from Pulse regarding some suspicious activity. Shortly after, another message came through from this number detailing three transactions-two of which were indeed legitimate-and requested a yes or no reply. I've since blocked the number and cancelled my card for safety.

I received a message that appeared to be from Debenhams regarding my credit card, requesting that I reply with either Y or N to confirm if the recent transactions were authorised by me. Before I took any action, I decided to search for the number here to ensure it was legitimate, after which I promptly reached out to Debenhams' Fraud Prevention team for clarification.

It seems that someone has been masquerading as Pulse Card. I'm not quite sure how they pull it off, but much like another report I came across, they even send messages appearing to come from the genuine card number, which makes it all the more convincing. I only clued in when I noticed that there were no transactions pending on my account, yet as I was reciting some codes, suddenly those pending transactions began to pop up. Stay vigilant, everyone!

Absolutely a dodgy number. They were attempting to coax me into approving a payment close to £2,000 for some educational software outfit. Quite an unusual approach for a scam, I must say.
