Got a call from a different number the other day and it started with my first name, then a question mark? When I answered, there was a recorded message saying all calls are recorded for training, which was a bit odd. Kinda freaky how they already knew my first name before I even said anything.

Got a strange text from someone I don’t know but they called me by my first name right away, which set off alarm bells straight away. It was all about energy stuff and they wanted a quick yes or no reply. Obviously a scam, so I just blocked the number. It’s a shame because the energy and insulation sector is full of dodgy characters exploiting government grants - even the legit companies sometimes try to push energy products that aren’t really appropriate for lots of houses, just to make a quick buck.

Just got a text from this number on the 29 May 2021. It said because of some 2030 environmental goals, you could receive free stuff sent to your house? If you want details, they said to reply with ‘free’, or if you don’t want it, reply ‘out’. Seemed a bit odd to me.

i end up getting about 3 calls and texts from these kinds of numbers every day. honestly, don’t trust them or answer if u don’t know the number, cause once u answer, the calls keep coming non stop. if someone's legit, they usually drop a voicemail. these ones? nope, never leave any message since they're trying to avoid being recorded or traced.

They kept offering free loft insulation and a new boiler - seemed way too good to be true, so I just blocked the number. Definitely felt like a scam.
