Got a call about some life insurance payout, they said there’s a PPI cheque waiting but to claim it I need to have a life insurance policy started in the past 8 weeks, which sounded fishy. This has happened twice now, but I never let it go far - I always say I’m recording the call, mention I’m in banking, and warn them I’ll report it to the authorities. On the last call, the person even threatened to visit my home and hurt me - laughable since I gave them a fake address!
