Got a call saying it was HMRC, trying to trick me. I actually spent 20 years working there, and we do ring up about unpaid debts sometimes, but HMRC never say what the call is about until you've confirmed your identity. This was some robo message from a mobile phone warning me I’d be taken to court. HMRC normally sends out several formal letters first, so if you’ve not got anything in writing and no money owed, just report it.
