Got a WhatsApp message today from a number I didn’t recognise, but he was pretending to be a bloke named John.
Used the same profile pic and asked who I was like he didn’t know me.
Pretty obvious he had my number stored before, which felt a bit unsettling.
The new contact was 07784 316155...
My guess is he switched numbers because the old one was getting too many hits.
When I called him out on it, he messed up his story and seemed well aware he’d been caught fibbing.

I came across this bloke called Rob Hawley on the Boo app. He said he’s 30 and into sports massage and physio. Told me he’s originally from Belfast but moved down to Hastings to start up a business. Mentioned his girlfriend would be joining him in a few weeks. We were just trying to make mates on the app and swapped WhatsApp. He then asked if I wanted to pop round his place for some drinks and a film. Something didn’t sit right, so I looked his number up and found loads of complaints about him. Seems he lives near Truman Drive, around Telham in Hastings. It’s shocking how many women he’s apparently tricked doing the same sort of thing.

This bloke tracked me down on Meetup while I was in Brighton, said he’d just shifted to Chichester. He messaged me on WhatsApp, trying to sneak behind his girlfriend’s back, but I kept saying no every time. Something about him always felt off, and after googling his ‘name’, I can honestly say he’s proper dodgy. Just moved here, girlfriend’s from Belfast and supposedly they’ve split now, though he’s already with someone else. He asks to catch up for a drink as mates every now and then. I’m done with this and gonna block and report him.

Some bloke got in touch with me on POF saying he’d just relocated nearby and needed tips on places to eat and good spots for walks. We exchanged numbers but he was quite dodgy about things, saying he avoided putting a photo on his profile as he didn’t want the tenants in his building to see it and think he was unprofessional. He kept trying to set up a meeting but I wasn’t having any of it. Proper odd guy.

So, I got a message from this bloke called Rob Hawley on a dating site. He said he’d just moved to Clevedon in North Somerset and his girlfriend was gonna join him soon. He asked about good spots for coffee and grub. Seemed alright at first, though we never actually got together. Now, nearly three years later, he’s popped up again messaging me. Kinda weird he’s held on to my number all that time! Honestly, no idea what he’s after, but something doesn’t add up with this guy. Watch out!

Hey everyone! So, this Rob bloke messaged me yesterday and then again today. We spoke briefly on Match 2 and a half years ago, but it didn’t really go anywhere… Then outta nowhere, he texts me now. Kinda creepy that he still kept my number all this time. He’s asking if I wanna meet for a coffee next week, just as mates he says…
Who even is this guy? Some kind of scammer? I’m not sure what he’s after!

Out of the blue, this bloke messaged me on WhatsApp, said "Hi" and then used my name, asking if I was still doing nails. I asked where he heard about me, and he said Laura Tides. Told him I don’t do nails now though. Something felt off, so I looked him up and saw loads of people here saying the same weird stuff about him. Proper creeper.

So I got a message on WhatsApp from this number saying only 'Hi' and then my name. Before I even thought about replying, I decided to Google it and found tons of reviews like these. Proper glad I checked first and didn’t just jump in replying.

Some bloke called Rob Hawley popped up on WhatsApp asking to book a nail appointment for his girlfriend who was supposedly moving nearby. He claimed a Debbie Teague had recommended my services, but I don’t have any client by that name, which made me feel uneasy straight off.
His WhatsApp had no profile picture and his replies were really dodgy and unclear. I started feeling quite nervous about the booking, so I looked up his number and came across this site! So relieved I did!
I blocked and reported him without a second thought!

I’m a beauty therapist and recently got a message from some bloke called Rob Hawley on WhatsApp, trying to book his girlfriend for a nail treatment. He said he’s just moved here from Belfast, runs a physio business, and is on the hunt for a place nearby. Didn’t say much about his girlfriend except her name, but oddly enough, he sent pictures of himself to match the name. That felt really off to me, so I looked him up and stumbled upon this site. What’s this guy’s deal? I ended up calling him some rude names and blocked him, but it honestly gave me the creeps. Big thanks to you lot for running this page!

So this bloke called ‘Rob’ got in touch with me on WhatsApp to book a wash, cut and blowdry for his girlfriend ‘Laura Hollieswell’ for today (15th Oct). He came across as pretty sincere - said he’d just moved around here somewhere near Manchester/Derbyshire, originally from Leeds but recently left Belfast. He even asked if I had a room to rent because he does sports massage and physio - sounded quite legit at first. Sent me a dodgy picture of himself with a black eye, said it was so I’d know who he was. That struck me as a bit off though. I messaged him on Wednesday to see if we could push the appointment to 9am, he was alright with that. Then I noticed his profile picture had changed, which felt a bit weird. Anyway, he didn’t turn up this morning and no word from him whatsoever. Turns out this weirdo’s been pulling stunts like this for years!

I got a message on WhatsApp from this number and it seemed a bit off. I remember seeing a warning on a hairdressing Facebook group about scams like this, so I thought I’d look it up here. Turns out it really is dodgy! For what it’s worth, I’m a hairdresser based in Oxfordshire.

Over the past few months, I’ve gotten loads of messages from this ‘Rob’ asking if I could do haircuts for him and his missus. I kept trying to dodge him, but he just wouldn’t stop texting. Found this site and ended up blocking him, which is a relief.

Got a message from someone calling himself Rob Hawley, saying he was recommended by my partner’s friend Erica. I gave the number a ring myself but no luck getting through. I snapped some screenshots of the reviews about that number, then ended up blocking it straight away. Would definitely advise being cautious with this one.

This guy’s been at it for like 2 years now - first time he messaged me asking if I could babysit his kids. When I got suspicious, he just blocked me. Then a few months later, he hit me up again from the same number but called himself by a different name, though he used the same photos. His phone shows he’s somewhere in Yorkshire. I reckon it’s worth letting the police know.

Indeed, I received a WhatsApp message yesterday from an individual asserting that they had my number saved in their contacts. Naturally, I inquired about their identity, and they proceeded to share some images-though I quickly realised these were pinched from someone else's account. Best to steer clear of this kind of thing. Clearly, this person has some underlying issues.

When I inquired about their identity, they claimed to be Rob Hawley and even sent over images that were clearly filched from another person's Instagram account. It screams scam or catfishing to me. Best steer clear of this one!

I recently received a message on WhatsApp from a number I didn’t recognise, asserting that my number was saved in their contacts. Curious, I inquired about their identity, only to be replied with a photograph. To my dismay, the image belonged to someone entirely different, and the name they provided was clearly fabricated. Best to steer clear of this one. Just ignore any attempts at communication.
