2 yearsSomeone texting me from 07860098128 claiming to be Alice asking for cafe plans we supposedly worked on. I told them they had the wrong person. They quickly said sorry and hoped I wasn’t annoyed. I just responded with a thumbs up. Then, a couple of hours later, I got another message from them asking if I was there? That was enough, so I blocked the number. When I looked it up, turns out you might get charged for texts coming from 07860 numbers! I’m gonna see if O2 can block these kinds of messages - just signed up with them. Never had issues like this with EE before.AliceGeorgeO2EE2 yearsSomebody said we crossed paths at a charity event, haha. Best thing to do is just block the number and not bother answering.2 yearsGot a call from someone saying we’d crossed paths at some charity gig. Total scam, watch out!2 yearsGot a message from someone calling themselves “Mr Brown,” asking if I had any news about a stray dog they said they rescued. Problem is, I’m not Mr Brown, nor have I done anything with a stray dog. Didn’t bother opening or replying to it. After seeing what others said about these texts, I’m just gonna delete it straight away!Brown2 yearsGot a text asking if I’m Dr Zhang, from someone claiming they’ve got hip issues and want to book an acupuncture session. Felt dodgy, probably a scam trying to get you to ring or text a costly number. Best to just ignore and block.Zhang2 yearsI received a text message inquiring if I was Dr Zhang, pretending to be a person suffering from hip issues wanting to set up an acupuncture appointment. After doing a bit of digging on another site, it appears this is a known "booking scam." It seems to be a tactic aimed at luring you into texting or calling a premium-rate phone number. Just a heads up, don't engage with it and make sure to block the number. From what I found on that website: if you were to call a mobile number like 07860098264 from a landline, you might find yourself getting charged anywhere from 10p to 20p per minute. Plus, there could be an initial connection fee of around 23p. Best to avoid this nonsense altogether!Zhang2 yearsJust got a text about scheduling an acupuncture session with Dr Zhang, thought it was a scam at first but turns out it’s legit. Has anyone else had a message like this? Not sure how I feel about it yet.ZhangSubmit Your Own Report (07860 098264)
