I'm currently in a bit of a pickle waiting for a repair on my Indesit, which, as it happens, is a product from Whirlpool. I attempted to get in touch, but the website seemed to be riddled with malware. Weirdly, when I tried to verify my information online via my mobile, it prompted me to enter my name and address to validate my details. Now, I'm sitting here scratching my head, pondering whether this is all a scam. I mean, despite the claims of malware, I'm baffled as to how they managed to acquire all my information, apart from my house number, of course. Fingers crossed it's simply a hiccup in Whirlpool's online system for handling repairs. Let’s be honest, they’ve got a mountain of repairs to tackle, and with all those frustrated customers flooding in, their website is probably struggling to keep up!

Just received a rather odd text today, expressing gratitude for signing up for a tumble dryer modification and suggesting I book an appointment at http://c-e.io/fnmy13v. The message, supposedly from Whirlpool, ended with a note about not responding to automated correspondences. This set off all sorts of alarms for me since I recently replaced my faulty dryer with a brand new one. Plus, the kicker? I don’t even own a Whirlpool! It seems this dodgy scam is still making the rounds after all these months!

Today, I got a peculiar message (dated 02/03/17) urging me to arrange a modification for my tumble dryer by clicking this link (http://c-e.io/8054yza). What struck me as odd was the fact that all communication seemed to be via email, and I genuinely can’t remember ever providing my phone number, which set off alarm bells in my mind. So, I decided to look up the number and, after reading through some of the other responses, I'm absolutely relieved my instincts were spot on. A huge thank you to everyone who shared their experiences, it really helped me find the clarity I needed!

Received a message identical to what everyone else has reported. I haven’t had any interaction with Whirlpool, so it definitely feels like a dodgy scam.

Greetings! On the 14th of February, I got a rather odd text message expressing appreciation for my registration concerning a modification for a tumble dryer. The message read, ‘To schedule an appointment, please visit http://c-e.io/43v0zpr.’ I happen to own one of the affected tumble dryer models and am currently expecting to hear from Whirlpool, but they'd typically reach out via email or a phone call rather than sending a text like this. As a result, I've chosen to disregard the message.

Received a rather dubious text saying, 'Thank you for signing up for a tumble dryer alteration. To book an appointment, click here http://c-e.io/8rxmvso.' Now, I've been sorting all my tumble dryer matters through email for ages, so this definitely reeks of something fishy. My appliance was already serviced months back, so why on earth would I need to register again? Can't even respond to the message, so the only option is that dodgy link - not a chance, if you ask me!

I've been getting messages about fixing my tumble dryer... They keep urging me to click a link to schedule an appointment. But honestly, I don't even need any repairs on my dryer!

I received a dodgy text message that had a link in it, purporting to be from Whirlpool. Definitely seems off!

Received a text saying thank you for signing up for a tumble dryer upgrade. It directed me to click on a link to set up an appointment: http://c-e.io/4f88ekp. However, my computer flagged this site as potentially hazardous. I’ve only communicated about my tumble dryer via email, so I’m starting to suspect this might be dodgy. Just a heads up for everyone!
