In April 2023, I got a text from my child's nursery, and it seemed legit. Fast forward to June 2023, I received another message from a company I applied to, giving me an update on my job application. It's all a bit baffling, really, as to why both messages came from the same number. It has left me rather perplexed! Nevertheless, I can confirm that both texts were authentic and not a scam whatsoever.

Got a txt from this number saying a Community Vision tech will be at my place on 22/03/23. They said the engineer will ring before 10am to give an estimated time of arrival. They asked to make sure there’s parking nearby and that access to the communal gear is sorted. They also mentioned if anyone at home has had Covid symptoms recently, I need to let them know by replying to the message. A couple of months back I got a message from this number (07860 021262) about an order I was waiting for, expecting a pallet delivery through palletlinehub. Then just two days ago, the same number sent me this text: "Hey mum, my old phone’s dead so I’m using a mate’s phone. Can you WhatsApp me on my new number 07754530148 please?" Well, it’s clearly a con - my child would never text me in anything but our first language. I've reported and blocked this number.

Got a text from someone called Jade after I sent off my application for UK ENERGY MANAGEMENT. They said they were booking a survey date for my internal wall insulation grant but when I tried replying it just didn’t go through. They keep saying I’ve been picked for some government energy subsidy. Couldn’t be more obvious it’s a scam, just asked for a postcode. These types really need to be shut down. Feels like no action is taken, seen loads of other people complaining too.

I've received messages from this number purporting to be linked with UK Energy Management, referencing my application for some sort of grant for heating installation and insulation. Oddly enough, in two different texts, I was given three separate mobile numbers along with an email address where I was instructed to submit proof of my identity and details about my benefits. Now, I’ve not heard a peep from them since, and it's starting to worry me. I was attempting to renew my driving licence and accidentally ended up on a website pretending to be the DVLA. Because of this, I ended up sharing loads of my personal info. Since I’d just visited a physio, it seemed legit at first. Then it told me to reply ‘yes’ if I wanted assistance. That felt dodgy, so I looked it up here. Haven’t replied and have binned the message. Totally sounds fishy; got a text asking if I wanted to sell my eBay shop. If they were genuine, wouldn’t they just ring me up?

Got texts from this number saying they were 5# Home Legal Direct (I actually checked with them). They kept asking for all my details by text and wanted a payment. When I said I’d rather sort it out in person, they said surveyors don’t do it that way and basically said they couldn’t assist!

Received a message in Chinese, feels pretty suspicious to me.

Got a message about a show from them, sounded a bit off so I didn’t bother replying. Turns out it’s probably a scam where they try to grab your info to maybe break into your account. Best to just ignore it.

Got a message from this number about a water cooler needing a service. Thing is, I don’t have one so it’s totally bogus. Just ignore and bin it.
