I asked who it was and they said they had something ‘interesting to show your old man’. Seemed proper weird to me. So I blocked and reported the number.

Got a call from someone wanting me to keep their iPhone after trying it out. I looked them up on who called me, then just deleted the number and blocked it straight away.

On the 25th of April around 3.34 pm, I got a message from Free Compare. It said something like, "Hi David, we want you to test and review a Karcher pressure washer and keep it for free. Visit ww.gyme[###]/MBSLEfWM/. To stop, text END to 07860020187." I didn't call them back. I get loads of these offers, TVs and all that.

(which is not my name, by the way). Definitely seems like junk. I’d suggest ignoring them altogether, just delete and add the number to your blocked contacts. Better safe than sorry, I reckon!

I got a couple of messages from SynergyCC about trying out some products for free. They were addressed to 'Hi', which gave me the feeling that it was meant for someone else who may have mistakenly entered my number. I've gone ahead and added them to my blocked contacts and removed the messages. It’s probably wise not to engage with them at all.

Got a text earlier today at about 10:37 saying I could test a £150 Fortnum & Mason Christmas hamper. It said to text OUT to 07860020187 to opt out. I gave some of my info, not banking stuff though, and was told I'd get an activation code by email but it never showed up. You really have to watch out and if the number doesn’t seem familiar, best not to reply. Cheers for everyone sharing their experiences!

Total scam this one. Got a message saying they need product testers, but it wasn’t even from a real phone number, just something like ‘Petes Deals’. Then they tell you to text END to 07860020187, which obviously if you did, you’d be giving them permission to spam you or worse. They also want you to click a dodgy link - not a chance! I actually signed up with a site offering free deals and mystery shopping, so I’m guessing this might be a scam as well.
