Got a text today that actually used my name, saying "[Name], claim your free Economist copy now at http://econo.io/bT0I Text 67776 to stop". Not falling for it! Planning to report it to the Information Commissioner's Office because this feels really dodgy and probably against the rules.

I’m honestly getting the feeling this number might be pestering me, since I’ve had loads of texts from it. What worries me is that some of these spam texts could actually end up costing the person who gets them money! Being a single mum, this is really not okay with me. Got a message saying it was from Ladbrokes offering £30 free bet if I staked £10, with a link to click. Never clicked it, but honestly, this kind of stuff needs to stop. I’m not someone who just lets it slide and if no official body steps in, I’ll have to sort it out myself, by whatever means necessary. Here’s the text I got at 19:32 on 23/10/2013: “Ladbrokes Champions League new customer offer. BET £10 GET £30 Click LINK Use Code 'MOBILE30'. T&Cs apply txt LDSTOP to opt out” Would appreciate confirmation that this matter will be dealt with, otherwise you’ll see behaviour from me that’s pretty extreme.
