Got a text about smart meters from someone called "amery". I don't even have npower, and that number they messaged is just a backup phone I hardly ever touch. Definitely spam, no doubt about it.

I got a call from Amey about setting up a smart meter appointment, but honestly I'd say don't waste your time. When I stayed in military accommodation, they kept missing appointments and it was such a hassle. Just contact your actual provider directly to book, it's way more reliable.

got a message from this number saying they were from amey and would be fitting my smart meter on 2/3/18, but ive already told npower i dont want one. feels dodgy to me. anyone else with npower, maybe check with your supplier before believing these texts, could be a scam?

Got a text from this number claiming to be n power, saying they need me to confirm a smart meter installation on New Year's Day between 8am and 12pm. I never requested one, and it seemed strange to be scheduled on a holiday anyway. The message said to reply yes to confirm, no to cancel, or if I want another date, text n power plus the word date. Bit fishy if you ask me.
