I got a call from a guy with a really strong Asian accent, claiming he was calling from Amazon. He asked if I’d made a purchase of around £98 the night before. When I said no, he told me someone in the US had apparently used my account to buy stuff. Then he asked if I wanted to cancel that order. I had just checked my Amazon account and there was no sign of any purchase like that. He said he’d send me a verification code, but when I didn’t get it straight away, he tried sending it through WhatsApp. Instead of a code, I just got a picture of the Amazon logo. So, I hung up after that.
