Got a call from someone claiming to be a construction architect working on a project out in West Africa, met him on a popular dating site. Never asked me for cash so far, but I felt something was off straight away. Loads of dodgy stories and kept dodging video chats. He was pretty pushy too. Glad to see here that others have caught on to the same thing, seems he’s using another phone number with almost identical complaints.

Got a call from someone claiming to be a businessman in West Africa who kept asking me for money, supposedly for his son. He was really pushy and got quite rude when I refused. His accent was hard to follow, sounded foreign. I don’t think he realised I wasn’t gullible, kept pushing and ringing me back, which honestly annoyed me a lot. Felt like a classic dating scam, super sketchy.
